By far one of my favorite countries I’ve had the opportunity to visit and one of the few I’ve been back to. It’s unknown natural beauty, and friendly atmosphere draws many there to visit and experience a different way of living. Like the United States, it is rather big, and Southern Vietnam is much different than Northern, but both offer unique cultural experiences that you won’t find anywhere else. My favorite place to visit thus far has been Hội An, a city in Vietnam;s central coast. Hội An is known for its beautiful Ancient Town filled with French and Japanese style architecture. Often times it is overlooked and not thought of an attractive destination to travel to, but with less tourist traffic than most major cities, it’s definitely not one to miss if you’re looking for a quiet getaway with plenty of things to see, do, and eat!
The other Cities I have had the opportunity to see are Hue, which is only a day’s journey away from Hội An, Hanoi, Hạ Long, and Ho Chi Min. Each one has been very different, and each one left an impression I will never forget. Along the way, I met some wonderful people, learned about cultural practices, tried something new, saw some beautiful places, explored new areas, and grew as a whole. I look forward to the day I can return and see another place I have yet to discover.
