I have always had a passion for art and design and take great pleasure in using my creativity to open someone’s mind to an entirely new perspective. My favorite medium has become mixed media as I have learned new techniques and expanded my knowledge through various courses, travel, and personal exploration. My art background began at the age of 10 when I learned the art of Ukrainian Egg design from my mother, a very fragile yet beautiful form of art. From there I went on to other forms such as Computer Graphics, 2-D Design and photography in which I received recognition as well as local awards. My black and white film, Old Rag, was featured in the Fairfax, Virginia town hall. After traveling and living in S.E. Asia for 3 yrs and experiencing many different cultures my art took on a whole new form and I began to experiment with watercolor and perfect my photography skills as well. Every piece of art I create or photo I take has meaning and is an extension of my interactions with the environment, people and cultures. My Fire Show photograph, was selected for its cultural content and published by the US Embassy in the Singapore SLING, a non-classified document for families living abroad. Rainbow Lorikeet, was nominated in 2017 by the The Nature Conservancy in Arlington VA as one of the top 50 contestants for featuring the natural preservation of today’s wildlife. I take great pride insuring my art is not just a simple statement of design, but rather as a way to make a difference. To help people remember that beauty is everywhere, we just have to take the time to slow down, live in the moment, and enjoy the little things life presents us with.
I continue to express my creativity most recently with my newly created 3D line of Ukrainian Eggs and as always, photography whenever I am hiking the Appalachian Trail or just enjoying the outdoors near my home. I sincerely hope that my designs will bring you much joy and inspire you to come up with your own unique designs. If you would like to know a little more and the backstory behind a particular piece, please feel free to contact me personally. I would love to hear from you! Thank you for your support.
